Vaishno Devi Yatra ( Mata Vaishno Devi Temple )

"Mata Vaishno Devi temple is one of the holy shrines of Hindus located atop a hill at an altitude of 5300 feet above sea level. This holy shrine is seen in a 100 feet long cave where is housed the sanctum sanctorum of the goddess in the form of a five and half feet tall rock with three heads. The deity worshipped in the temple is Goddess Vaishnavi said to be the manifestation of the collective strengths of Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali. Duration : 03 Nights / 04 Days

Day 01 : Delhi - Jammu
Arrive at Delhi airport. Visit the attractions of Delhi. Board the flight to Jammu or take the overnight train to Jammu.

Day 02 : Jammu - Katra (48 kms)
After having breakfast, explore the attractions of Jammu. There are temples and forts in this city-Amar Mahal Museum, Bahu Fort, Mubarak Mandi Palace, Panch Peer. This city is the winter capital of the Jammu and Kashmir state.

Take the taxi to Katra in the evening. On arrival check in at a hotel.

Day 03 : Katra- Mata Vaishno Devi Temple-Katra
In the early morning trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. You have to trek 13 kms from Katra to reach the top of the shrine. If you cannot walk the hilly paths you can hire pony or palanquins.

Enroute around 6 kms away from Katra you will reach the Adhkawari, the holy cave where Mata Devi said to meditate for nine months. Visit this cave. After 9.5 kms trekking you will reach the Sanjhi Chhat. Take rest here for sometime. Then trek to the Bhawan again and get the batch no showing your Yatra slip. Have the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi. Return back to Katra.

Day 04 : Jammu - Delhi
Take the taxi to Jammu and then take your flight back to Delhi. You can also opt for bus or train journey. Your Vaishno Devi pilgrimage tour comes to an end.
